I mean, this morning alone, I've received over a hundred since last night. Snap! Pretty Good Phone Privacy, Google outage, RapperBot, & more Spiceworks Originals.Your best bet for support is Spiceworks and Symantec forums. Unfortunately, I found about the support in the hard way after I purchased the new licenses of Backup Exec 2014.

I hope the above is hopeful because Symantec support is very unreliable, limited knowledge with their product, and they failed me measurably. Now my bottleneck is the network :) but I managed to shave the backup from days to few hours. I did increase the concurrent write to 4 and it seems I can go for more. I do have RAID 10 with ample of space on the local backup exec media server, which allow me to do the backups to the media server RAID hard drive and then do a duplicate to the external hard drive. This did improve the backups speed in a tremendous way. I noticed the concurrent can change the backup speed dramatically.Īlso I did reconfigure my backup to DtDtT.

I got a decent improvement when I changed concurrent write sessions in the in storage section > configure drive > "my external hard drive storage" > Backup Exec server information > Concurrent write sessions from 2 to 1. I had a similar issue when I wrote to the external hard hard drive and it was very very very slow. I do have a similar environment but with less number of machines and I do backup to external hard drives for offsite backup instead of tape.
